JOB PURPOSE:

Viatel Ireland are seeking a Business Analyst / Project Manager to join our Systems Group. The position is focused on working with business stakeholders to define the scope of IT application projects and support the head of systems in delivering these business requirements. The role involves liaising with people across the whole organization to define BSS/OSS requirements, working with key stake holders to define the delivery plan and mapping out key processes.



We are looking for candidates with good business analysis skills who wishes to develop their project management skills. We’re looking for someone that understands the voice and data business and is trying to develop and growth their project management experience. A background in change management with experience in transformational projects is important.



PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



As business analyst, main responsibilities:

• Liaising between the business, technical teams and software team to assist in understanding the business context, the interdependencies and interactions that happen between the people, processes, business rules to deliver solutions that maximize business value and business process change

• Eliciting and analyzing business requirements, and translating them into functional requirements for software team

• Designing test plan and creating detailed test cases to validate functional requirements

• Creating training material and session with internal users

• Resolving technical issues raised by different internal teams



As project manager, the main duties and responsibilities are:

• Defining and managing PMO governance structures (project pipeline, project data aggregation and presentation, project templates, project phases and processes, resource forecast, tools)

• Developing and defining the project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders

• Developing detailed project plan to track WBS, resources, progress

• Managing deliverables, progress and performance, and reporting on the aforementioned to stakeholders

• Managing project risks, issues, changes

• Acting on client feedback

• Analyse, validate and develop business and technical process requirements.

• Develop systems requirements, techniques, and controls. Assist with implementation efforts and requirements.

• Examine processes holistically to understand the impact of changing them on people, strategy, systems and general business operations.

• Monitor and measure the effectiveness of processes to ensure they continue to be good and appropriate for the business.

• Drive, energy and perseverance to ensure customer and business needs are achieved in most effective fashion.



REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Proven track record of managing business requirements in a fast paced and dynamic Technology / Telecommunications environment.

• Proven ability to manage and coordinate project activities.

• Strong communicator.

• Strong relationship and inter-personal skills with ability to work effectively across customers, team members and within the wider Viatel business.

• Applicants must be highly motivated individuals, able to work on own initiative and who have a positive desire to serve customer needs at all times.



EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ideally degree educated with a relevant business, scientific and/or technical background

• Understanding of project management techniques

• At least 2+ years in a similar Business Analysis role

• Good understanding of the Telecoms industry, its products and services.

• Positive attitude, professionalism and desire and ability to learn and progress is paramount.

• Fluency in English essential
